The Workshop “Certification of Rural Accommodation in Georgia”tookplace at Elkanaoffice organized jointly by the Swiss expert Markus Luthi and Rural Tourism Group at Elkana. The workshop was attended by representatives of Department of Tourism and Resorts, Agency of Protected Areas, tourism associations GITOA, GTA and Elkana. The program was dedicated to the elaboration of certification system, necessity of quality control and certification of guesthouses in Georgia and etc. There were discussed various themes and questions considerable for certification process.

It was planned to finalize precisely by Elkana experts the working documents prepared by participants during the workshop. Final documents will be sent and discussed with the participants end of September 2010. Standardization of rural accommodations according based on elaborated documents and agreed procedures is planned to be made in December 2011.
