On December 14-15, 2013, First Aid training course was organized for beneficiaries of the project “Development of Ecotourism in the Javakheti National Park Support Zone”. The training was organized in WWF Akhalkalaki office and was conducted by the doctor-instructors from Emergency Medical Service Training Center.
Training participants learnt Basic Life Support (BLS), rules and principles of giving first aid to an injured person and practical usage of first aid kit. The training program included practical exercises as well, as a result of which participants acquired practical skills in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control and trauma management – fracture immobilization. At the end of the training course participants were tested in theory and practice.
The project “Development of Ecotourism in the Javakheti National Park Support Zone” is implemented by the Biological Farming Association Elkana. The project aims to support development of ecotourism in the Javakheti National Park support zone villages (Patara Khanchali, Epremovka, Zhdanovo, Sameba, Dadeshi, Sulda, Miasnikiani, Filipovka, Bozali, Kartsakhi), and it is part of the Javakheti National Park Establishment project which is funded by the German Government through the Reconstruction Credit Bank KfW and is implemented by WWF in cooperation with the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.
