From 6 to 11 November the Training of Trainers (ToT) was held by National Federation of Agricultural Producers from Moldova AGROinform and Biological Farming Association Elkana in Tbilisi with participation of 15 agricultural experts from Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Kazakhstan working on agricultural issues.
The aim of the training was to design the training module and training course for the project groups of beneficiaries.
The ToT was held in the framework of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)-funded project Promoting Inclusive Horticultural Value Chains in Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Moldova. The project is implemented by AGROinform (Moldova) in partnership with Elkana (Georgia), Shen NGO (Armenia), LTD "Kazakh Research Institute of Economics, Agribusiness and Rural development" (Kazakhstan) and National Institute for Economic Research (Republic of Moldova).
During the four-day training the following issues were discussed: European experience in cooperating farmers; analysis of case studies concerning cooperation of farmers in four countries; analysis of legal framework on cooperation of farmers in Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Moldova; economic simulator model for associative forms of farmers entrepreneurial activity; basic principles on cooperation of farmers; Advantages and disadvantages of associative forms; rules and regulations for joint activity and business; methodological steps for creating cooperatives in each country (based on own experience and shared knowledge); designing training program for the 2 days training course for the project groups of beneficiaries.
The training provided a study visit to the existing farmers' cooperatives - "Nergebi" and "Alvani Agro" in region of Kakheti, Georgia.
